Dear Friends for Life,

The WV Legislative Session began in January and is well underway. Our lobbyist in Charleston, Karen Cross, is working hard to pass the Unborn Child Protection from Dismemberment Abortion Ban Act (SB 10/HB 4004). This bill would outlaw a form of abortion that “dismember[s] a living unborn child and extract[s] him or her one piece at a time from the uterus.” This is the type of abortion done by the Planned Parenthood abortionists to obtain baby body parts for sale.

This heinous procedure undermines the dignity of all human life, and should be outlawed in West Virginia. It is considered the “standard of care” for second trimester abortions by abortionists, but there are many other methods that abortionists use. In ordinary medical care, doctors have testified that there is no emergency that requires dismembering a living unborn baby.

Contact your senators and delegates and let them know that claims that the Kansas state Dismemberment Abortion Ban law was found unconstitutional are false. There has been no trial to determine the constitutionality of the Kansas law. The District Court simply found that the law was enjoined (not in effect) while the trial is going on. We won’t know if the law is found constitutional until after the arguments have been made and the results are known. (See more here.)
